Yesterday, made were delighted to attend and co-ordinate a sneak peak tourism FAM trip for our new client and central London’s newest attraction The Postal Museum ahead of the official opening this Friday 28th July.
Invited guests of made were invited to attend a special performance of On The Town which is currently playing at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre for a strictly limited season.
The 2017 Group Travel Awards, took place on Friday 2nd June 2017 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London celebrating the very best suppliers in group travel and was hosted by accomplished sportsman and international tennis player Dan Lobb.
Great for Groups - The Beautiful South 2017 took place on Wednesday 26th April at Kempton Park Racecourse and attracted over 600 group travel organisers, tour operators and other travel trade visitors.

Life-sized elephant puppet Oona stopped tourists in their tracks as it was taken to Baker Street for rehearsals of a new play, based on a book by Michael Morpurgo.
Oona stars in Running Wild, which is being staged by Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre (a client of made) this summer and tells the story of a boy’s adventures in Indonesia after a tsunami hits.
The model was created by some of the team behind the West End adaptation of Morpurgo’s War Horse. It will share the stage with the professional cast, as well as about 20 local young people recruited for the show.
Last night we attended the Gala Opening of EXHIBITIONISM the first international exhibition on The Rolling Stones. Our client iEC (International Entertainment Consulting) have taken over the entire two floors of the Saatchi Gallery with 9 thematic galleries, EXHIBITIONISM combines over 500 original Stones' artefacts, with striking cinematic and interactive technologies offering the most comprehensive and immersive insight into the band's fascinating fifty year history.
ITB Berlin is the world's largest travel trade fair which provides a unique opportunity to look behind the curtain of the global tourism industry. Since the 60’s the exhibition area has increased from 580 to 150,000 square meters and has become the largest travel trade show in the world. Encore Tickets, Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones, Wembley Stadium Tour, Blenheim Palace and English Heritage exhibited on the made stand. We met with over 110,000 trade visitors and over 7,000 travel journalists over the five-day convention.
Congratulations to our client Ana Araque from The View From The Shard on winning the European Group Travel Award for Best Visitor Attraction. The awards were last held night at the prestigious Intercontinental Berlin, a modern upscale hotel in the heart of Berlin. The evening began at 7pm with cocktails sponsored by made, followed by dinner and the awards ceremony. The awards are staged annually as a partnership between Landor Travel Publications and leading international group specialist HotelPlanner.com.

Thanks to 'Skate at Somerset House with Fortnum and Mason', our travel trade friends were able to experience a fabulously festive evening at beautiful Somerset House. Following a long week of WTM, our guests took to the ice at this iconic and historic location. As well as showing off their skills on the ice, guests were able to relax with a glass of mulled wine at Tom’s Skate Lounge before perusing Fortnum and Mason’s stylish pop up in the Christmas Arcade.

Tonight Natalie and I (Jonathan) have been invited to the Press & Marketing private view of Goya: The Portraits at The National Gallery, London. Over the past few months we have been working with the Marketing Department at the Gallery to attract Spanish, Latin American and French tourists to this milestone exhibition. Overseas tourists will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the remarkable skill of one of Spain’s most celebrated artists.
On Friday and Saturday we exhibited at the GTOA (Group Travel Organisers Association) Showcase Weekend 2015 at the Newcastle Marriott hotel. The GTOA is an independent organisation representing the interests of those who organise tours and trips for groups as well as those who provide services for group travel. The Association has over 200 supplier members that provide GTOs with information on everything from tours, hotels and destinations to museums, galleries, gardens and attractions.

Last night (Tuesday 1 September) we hosted memebrs of IGLTA (the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association) at KINKY BOOTS the musical at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

Experience Oxfordshire, the Destination Management Organisation for Oxfordshire, has unveiled its new brand identity (created by made tourism marketing) at their Summer Networking Event.
The 130 people in attendance came from all sections of the visitor economy, and were the first to see the new brand and learn more about how Experience Oxfordshire aims to grow as an organisation and make the county a desirable destination to live, work, visit and do business.
On Friday 19 August made hosted a familiarisation trip to Houghton Hall a country house in Norfolk, England. It was built for the de facto first British Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, and it is a key building in the history of Palladian architecture in England. We hosted Group Leaders and members of the Travel Trade at a major exhibition of one of the world’s most renowned artists. LightScape: James Turrell an exciting show of light installations, which includes several site-specific works and a spectacular illumination of the entire west façade of the Hall.
